The Olympics are on my bucket list.

Tonight is the opening cerimonies for the 2012 summer Olympics in London.  As I sit here and watch the opening cerimonies I am thinking that one day I would love to be there.  The Olympics are something that I have always enjoyed, and kinda obsess about.  You would think that I might have competed, but I didn't.  Not even close.  There is just something about watching fellow Americans compete in sporting events against other countries that makes me proud!  This is the greatest country might as well watch and pull for our team.  I can't wait to watch as many events as I can.

The kids learning stop motion animation.

Recently I purchased the LEGO Jericho movie for Adam.  It is a movie made by using stop motion animation, and the hole thing is composed of LEGOS.  The best part is that's it was made by a bunch of homeschool kids!  The movie is 28 minutes long and is so cool!

So this inspired Adam to make his own LEGO movie!  While he was watching Jericho he figured out how they made the LEGOS move.  The talking wasn't so easy for him to figure out.  He asked a couple of questions, found a camera, tri pod and made a "set" out of his LEGO stock.

Within an hour they had a 37 second video!  Paul helped him with the animation and dialog.  I was super impressed with what the kids ended up with.  Check out Jericho and Adam's first movie!

I need a Hobby!!

I am in need of a hobby!! Everyone has one except me. Adam has his legos, Paul plays bluegrass and my mom is a card shark in poker. What hobbies does a mom of 4 home school kids want??? I have no idea! Here are some of the options that I have tried that didn't work or were too expensive.

Scrap booking - It was fun, but I never printed out enough pictures to use. At times it got really expensive.

Couponing - I still do use coupons, but I can cut them, organize them and shop all in about 2 hours.

Reading - I love reading, but if I have a good book I finish it in a couple of days...or if I pick up one I don't like I wont even finish it. Then the search for the next good book to read is dreadful to me.

Cooking - Cooking is fun, but I have gained so much weight since having kids that the things that I like to cook are not good for me. I can not bake to save my soul so that is out also.

Exercising - Paul suggested that I start working out. He was hopeful that I would make him to it with me, but that would require us to get up at 6 am. A morning person I am defiantly not!! I guess I need to quit being lazy and try this as my new hobby!!

I guess this just leaves home schooling the kids. There are always lesson plans to write, crafts to collect and science experiments to test. The library this year is going to be our best friend. The kids are going to learn how to find books using the card catalog, call numbers and all that good stuff.

As always I am open for suggestions if anyone has any.

My Ruby

Ruby 15 months old!Ruby turned 15 months old on June 1st. She has been such a blessing in our family. Her personality has begun to bloom so much in the last couple of months. Although she is not walking yet, it does not slow her down. If there is anything to push, climb or pull she is all over it. Last week I caught her standing on top of the ottoman dancing!! How she managed to get up there is a mystery to me. Out of all our children she is the only 1 that can stop people in their tracks to tell the "Hi" and blow them a kiss good bye. Last time I took her to the grocery store it took me 30 minutes longer because everyone had to stop and talk to her. She has that kind of personality. I love this little girl and I am so glad that God blessed our family with so many wonderful, but different kids!!

Wendy Pope Bible Study

My mother in law introduced me to this bible study a few months ago. At first I wasn't so sure, but after giving it a try for a few weeks it turned out that I really like it. Its real easy to do, and only takes the max of 30 minutes of your day. (Thats is you read really, really slow.) Here is all you have to do:

1. Get a NLT Chronological Bible
2. Find the current day.
3. Read the provided section
4. Check out Wendy Pope for her commentary on the daily reading you just read.
5. Have some prayer time.

Wendy is very down to Earth kind of gal. She works for Proverbs 31 ministry, has 2 kids and defiantly loves the Lord!! Like I said I really like it, and if I can do it with 4 kids 6 and under anyone can do it. Give it a try and let me know what you think!!

Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt

In school we have been talking about St. Patricksday, and for fun I found a scavenger hunt. So I printed out the leprechaun, colored him, and laminated the little guy. Then I had to come up with different clues that Adam and Mark could figure out, and find the next clues. The 1st time I made the clues super easy.So here are the clues and some pics of the boys finding the leprechaun!!

Clue # 1: Get in Lucy's bed like you are taking a nap to find your next clue

Clue # 2: Get a drink out of Ruby's fridge.

Clue # 3: Your hair is a mess go find the pink hair brush.

Clue # 4: You smell a little so take a huge shower.

Clue #5: Find Buzz Lightyear for your next clue.

Clue #6: After all your looking take a rest in a big chair.

After Adam figured out the last clue the boys didn't know where the leprechaun was. I sat on the floor to take a picture and then Mark saw me look under the chair. The boys were so excited that they figured out all the clues. It was fun to watch them light up when they found the M&M's taped under Daddy's chair!! What a fun game to play!! So needless to say we have been hiding the leprechaun a bunch lately.

Oh its been a long time since I have blogged!!

Hello blogging world!! I am back and I have so much to tell you! Since the last time that I posted anything...a lot has changed. For 1 thing Paul and I had baby #4, we moved and started homeschooling Adam. Wow it has been a LONG time! Just yesterday our sweet Ruby turned 1!! I can't believe that a whole year has gone by. It seemed like someone just snapped their fingers and a the whole year was gone. What really started this whole "time flies" outlook I have now is from the message at church on Sunday. Andy Stanley was talking about why are we so occupied with "What time is it?" It made me realize that time keeps going even if you don't want it to, and things change all the time. Kids grow up, loved ones pass away and we grow older everyday. The good news about all this is we are experiencing life!! Life is so short here on Earth. Enjoy everyday. Live life to the fullest...and what ever life quotes I missed. All in all...I have so much on my mind that it keeps my up sometimes at night. So I thought blogging again would help my mind rest better knowing that I got it all written down somewhere. This is going to be the beginning of a lot more to come. I want everyone to see what I experience in my life.
