I Miss My Papa

On December 5, 2012 my Papa went to be with the Lord.  Not until recently can I really talk about it without breaking down in tears.  There are no words that can describe what he meant to me.  All I can do is share what kind of a man he was for everyone to know.  He was the type of person that would help anyone that needed anything.  If we had a friend that had no where to go for Christmas they were always invited to our celebrations.  Then when they left, their car was full presents!  Thanksgiving was always spent playing BINGO or other card games that involved the kids winning money to buy presents for Christmas.  Easters always included Easter egg hunts for money filled eggs.  Summers were always spent at the lake.  4th of July was packed with fireworks for us to shoot off the dock.  Needless to say...we always had Grandma's good cooking and a great time with ALL the family.  I will never forget the memories that he enabled us to have.

The love that I have for him will never fade, but he has inspired me to change my ways.  Insignificant things used to be top priority in my life, but not any more.  Now I read my Bible everyday and try to spend as much quality time with my 5 as I can.  There is no reason why we shouldn't enjoy life the way Papa wanted us to.

He always had a way of showing his affection by making you laugh.  If you could walk into my grandparents house and not have a good laugh something was wrong.  There were times during my parents divorce that their house was my safe heaven.  Even know when I walk in and he's not there...it still feels good to me!

He will always be missed and loved dearly.  I know one day down the road I will see him again and hug his neck.  I love you Papa!

Here is Papa's obituary.
